The Matrix

The Creation matrix, the Matrix of Light, Matrix of Leadership. It has been called by many names but one name is most recognized, it the Autobot Matrix of Leadership. It is a crystal encased in a metal shell a conduit of Primus power. It is the object that all prime carries within them when they assume leadership. When the bearer of the matrix dies, his essence is joined within the matrix collectively known as the wisdom of the Ages. Its wielder gains new strength and power, also able to communicate with past leaders for advice and prophecy of the future. 

It can give life like Vector Sigma giving sparks to machines. The Decepticons knew this ability, and it is one of there ultimate goals to steal the matrix of power from the Autobots. It is one that Unicron fears for if the matrix were to be use against him he will be obliterated.
